Let me say upfront that I've never been to Jamaica so my standards are based on local DC-Baltimore comparisons. My feeling is it's hard to screw up the food. You get the sauces right and you don't overcook and everyone will be happy. On that basis, I stumbled upon this tiny takeout joint and was satisfied. But what kept drawing me back was the Friday special short ribs. Few places make them and most serve up a stingy stringy mess that is mostly fat and gristle. But Spicy Delight offers thick meaty ribs full of flavor, whether you order the jerk or BBQ. I typically order both. I'm hesitant to even tout the ribs because I don't want the already often slow kitchen to be overworked. But if you want ribs that are far better than what you find in the standard BBQ joint, this is the place to go.

They are deserving of all five stars! Granted if you're not into spicy food you probably shouldn't eat here! There was so much flavor in their food! I had the jerk chicken with rice and peas and cabbage. That was the best Jamaican food I've had in the dmv area. The only downside is it's very small with no place to enjoy your meal! The female attendant had the nastiest attitude and it got crowded very quickly! Despite those negatives, I would return simply because the food was that good! If only the service were the same!

Not bad....quite proper as we say in JA. I went to grab food after leaving the spice place around the corner. I know what well seasoned food taste like as does every Jamaican. So I was glad to grab some food to go before heading home. I got a small order of goat and a regular stew peas with oxtail. The portions were decent although I wish they had separated out the stew in a separate small container. By the time I got home, the rice soaked up the stew. But what I tasted was good so no other complaints. Worth a visit for cash only, take out cuisine.

Now let me just say this the owner is completely rude and disrespectful. I'm not sure how her business is still up in running. On Thursday I call to place an order for two curry chicken Patty . She state's "what do you want" "name and number" Once I told her my name I began
telling her my phone number she hung up once I said "240". Once I got my curry chicken patty it was completely cold no taste no type of seasoning and what did I do I walked back in and demanded a refund which I got . Lastly my sister ordered a curry chicken dinner which had no type of seasoning the rice was super sweet the chicken had no flavor and still had blood in the middle. NEVER AGAIN!!!!!!
